According to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO), deputies were called to the scene of a shooting in the 200 block of Woodland Drive just before 7:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Upon arrival, deputies found 45-year-old Charles Ellis Morgan Jr. and his wife, 34-year-old Korina Morgan suffering from gunshot wounds.
Korina Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene. Charles Morgan was transported to Effingham Memorial Hospital where he later died.
