Community Corner: Walk for Homelessness planned to raise awareness, benefit Union Mission

According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, more than half a million people are homeless in the United States on a given night.
In Savannah, more than 4,000 men, women, and children don’t have a place to call home.
This month, one local organization hopes to shine a light on the issue and put an end to what has become a national epidemic.

Eric Bailey is the founder of Shine, Incorporated. Next week, the organization will present its inaugural Walk for Homelessness in the Coastal Empire. He joins us with more.

Walk for Homelessness: Donations & Home Race 2018

“Home Race 2018” is a 5K that will take place after the festivities. The event is free and open to the public. Tickets are $20 for the Home-Race. There is also an “Open Donation” ticket for those who want to donate to the cause.
