Community Corner: Parental involvement key to student success

Local News

With the school year back in session, one local organization wants to make sure parents play an active role in their child’s education.

This weekend, the Education Leaders Collaborative (ELC) along with Delta Solutions will host the 14th annual “Breakthrough: An Explosion of Parent Unity in the Community.”

The three-day event hopes to provide a foundation for parents, young people, families, and friends to take a stand and “get involved” with children at home, at school, and in the community.

Dr. Patricia Harris is the founder and organizer of the event. She joins us with more on what they hope to accomplish.
