City says rainfall causes major sewage spill on Darque Road

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — City sewage crews responded to a major sewage spill on Darque Road Monday.

The City of Savannah says the 91,250-gallon spill occurred on 98 Darque Road. The Environmental Protection Division classifies a major sewage spill as more than 10,000 gallons.

The city says the significant rainfall caused the manholes to overflow.
