Visitors at Wormsloe Historic site experienced a blast from the past today at the Colonial Faire and Muster.

The event is going on 20 years and features dozens of opportunities to see live history. Volunteers dressed in 18th-century attire, demonstrating everything from cooking to weaving and even blacksmithing.

Event goers also had their choice from a variety of vendors. Wormsloe’s site manager, Heather Gretchen Greminger said the tradition lets people experience history rather than just read about it.

“History is more than a bunch of words and a bunch of dates. I think it’s really important to see history in this way. It makes it a little more accessible. It makes it a little more exciting. It really brings history to life and makes it more relatable to folks,” said Greminger.

Wormsloe was one of several other historic sites across Georgia that did not charge visitors admission as part of Super Museum Sunday.
