SAVANNAH, Ga. – Armstrong State University junior Brigitta Barta has been named to the Peach Belt’s Preseason Women’s Basketball All-Conference Team, announced today by league officials.
Barta earned one of the six spots on the preseason All-Conference team, which is voted on by the league’s head coaches, for the second straight season. Joining Barta on the team is Kelsey Hutchins of North Georgia, Kariel Hutt of Augusta University, Michelle Mitchell of Columbus State, Ty’Hesha Reynolds of Lander and Emry Tsitouris of USC Aiken.
Barta earned first-team All-Peach Belt Conference honors as a sophomore in 2014-15 and was also the 2013-14 PBC Freshman of the Year. The junior from Budapest, Hungary, averaged 17.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game last year and was ranked in the PBC top 10 in scoring, field goal percentage, free throw percentage and rebounding.
Armstrong begins action this season by traveling across town to Savannah State on Tuesday, November 3rd, facing the Tigers at 6:00 p.m.
