KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Jack Black fans had a night to remember in Knoxville Thursday. The actor, comedian and singer stopped by Regal Cinemas in Turkey Creek for a benefit screening of the new movie “Goosebumps.”
Black took time to greet fans, sign autographs and even take selfies with the crowd. The event raised money for Variety – The Children’s Charity, which aims at improving the lives of children through creative fundraising efforts, well-placed donations with exceptional children’s charities, and through its own charitable programs.
The actor says working with children’s charities means a lot to him because he’s a dad of two boys.
“It sounded like a great cause. You know, special needs kids getting equipment that they need,” he said.
Black says he is also excited about the new movie.
“This movie is one of the best movies I’ve ever made for sure. I’m going to say top three. It’s right there. I mean, ‘School of Rock,’ that’s my main jam, but ‘Goosebumps,’ it is so action packed. It’s wall to wall excitement. It’s scary but it’s also funny and there’s not a lot of movies that get that sweet combination right.”
Goosebumps comes out on October 16, just in time for Halloween.
