Two sex offenders, both in their 50’s, both on the run for months, both could be in Savannah right now

Vance Horton is a 51 year old suspect with a laundry list of charges in his past.

“Sex offender registration violations, 2 or 3 in the past, rape, simple assault, trespassing, aggravated assault,” explains Investigator Frank Rollins of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office.

Horton was convicted of rape in 1990. He used to live on Jasmine Avenue, but he’s been missing for months. Now investigations say he could be anywhere in the city.

“Anytime you have anything like a rape or a sex offender period we never know if they are going to reoffend again,” says Rollins.

Victor Turner is 54 years old, also a sex offender convicted of sexual misconduct, now wanted for violating his probation.

“If he’s not at the address where hes supposed to be he goes in the community undetected. Which is a danger to us all,” explains Investigator Shania Gardner of the Chatham County Sheriff’s.

The warrant was issued back in October when investigators couldn’t find him at his East Bolton Street address.

They say he now hangs out in the area of Bolton, Waters Avenue, East 55th or East 59th streets.

“The longer someone is undetected and unaccounted for the more things that they will try to get away with and try to get away and try to do with trying to break the law,” said Gardner.
