(NBC News) A charter bus collided with an amphibious duck tour vehicle in Seattle, Washington Thursday, leaving at least four people dead and nearly three dozen injured.
Witnesses say the grisly event occurred when the duck boat inexplicably began to swerve, striking two other vehicles before ramming into the bus.
The force of impact ripped a gash in the side of the bus where most of the casualties occurred.
“My understanding is the majority of the injuries were the patients on the bus,” reported Lt. Sue Stangl of the Seattle Fire Department.
This is the second crash involving a duck boat in Seattle since July.
