Donating to Westlake Apartment community

SAVANNAH, Ga. – There is now a way to help the Westlake Apartments and surrounding communities.

Communities in Schools of Savannah has initiated the Kids Closet drive, which will help families effected by the storm.

You can donate items like school supplies, uniforms and personal care supplies online at or mail your donations and make them payable to Communities in Schools of Savannah.

You can also drop of items at 2126 East Victory Drive #167, Savannah, GA 31404.

All items will go to families at  DeRenne Middle School, Myers Middle School, Beach High School and Haven Elementary School.

“It is important to understand that most of our families are low income and struggle with the most basic expenses,” Catalina Garcia-Quick, Executive Director of Communities in Schools of Savannah, said. “Something like this is catastrophic as most do not own their home, they rent, so therefore the insurances most homeowners think of, do not exist for these families.”

Below is a list of the uniforms and supplies the students need:

Haven Elementary School Uniforms : Youth Sizes, S, M, L, XL Haven Elementary serves K-5 students

Haven Elementary School, School Supplies

DeRenne Middle School School Uniforms: Sizes S, M, L, XL
