Beaufort County authorities ID Seabrook murder victim, seek suspect

Beaufort County authorities have identified the victim of a murder that occurred Wednesday morning.

The Beaufort County Coroner’s Office identified him as 28-year-old Edward Sean Aiken, of Seabrook.

Aiken was found dead in a ditch off of Seabrook Center Road. According to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, he is believed to have died from gunshot wounds sustained overnight.

A forensic autopsy will be performed Thursday morning to help determine the cause and manner of Aiken’s death.

BCSO investigators are still on scene in the Seabrook Center Road area. Residents and motorists can expect an increased law enforcement presence in that area throughout the day.

They say the subject(s) responsible for Aiken’s death have not been located.
