Savannah, GA – To be the best in one’s sport, it seems like there is never an off season. For Sophomore, Alejandra Cisneros, she is preparing for a big tournament in November. The ITA National Indoor Championship, where is may look like she’s the underdog but Cisneros feels far it.

SUMTER, S.C. – Armstrong State University women’s tennis sophomore Alejandra Cisneros captured the 2015 ITA “Super Bowl” of Small College Tennis singles championship with a straight-set win over Asa College’s Macarena Olivares on Sunday morning at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C.

Cisneros dispatched Olivares, 6-0, 6-2, to become the fifth “Super Bowl” champion in Pirate women’s tennis history and the first since Barbora Krtickova in 2012. She also joins Zsofia Golopencza (2003), Johanna Dahlback (2006) and Sona Novakova (2009) as other “Super Bowl” champions for Armstrong State.

As a result, Cisneros will now advance to the ITA National Indoor Championships in Flushing, N.Y., on November 12-15. She will be the only non-Division I player in the field of 32 players.
