BRUNSWICK, Ga. - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation in cooperation with several other agencies conducted a five day sting that netted 18 arrests of men who thought they were going to have sex with a child.
Called "Operation Riptide," it centered in Glynn County Georgia, but men traveled from North Florida and other areas around Southern Georgia.
Undercover agents posed as children in chat rooms and began conversations that eventually lead to arrangements for sex.
Once arrested, several of the men admitted to engaging in similar on-line activity in the past including arranging sex with children and viewing child pornography. Investigators were able to identify six previous victims of molestation.
One offender arrived with drug related items packaged for sale. Agents also seized multiple phones that will be processed and could lead to additional charges.
Below are the mugshots of the suspects as well as their age, occupations, and where they are from.
