Statesboro Police ID suspect wanted in shooting at Midtown Bar and Grill

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Statesboro Police Department reports they are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at Midtown Bar and Grill on May 5. 

According to police, at approximately 12:03 a.m., the Statesboro Police Department responded to Midtown Bar and Grill in reference to a call of a fight with shots fired. Upon arrival, officers say they encountered a large, chaotic crowd in the parking lot of the business.

Officers of the Statesboro Police Department, Georgia Southern University Police Department, deputies of the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office and troopers from Georgia State Patrol responded to the scene to assist with crowd control and scene management while detectives of the Statesboro Police Department began investigating.

Two victims with apparent gunshot wounds were located in the crowd and transported by EMS to East Georgia Regional Medical Center for treatment. Neither victims’ injuries were life-threatening.

Detectives of the Statesboro Police Department have identified Frank Junior Emeka, 22 of Conyers, as the primary suspect regarding the shots fired. Warrants have been obtained for Emeka’s arrest in connection to this incident and police encourage Emeka to turn himself into the nearest law enforcement agency immediately.

If you see the suspect out in public, contact the nearest law enforcement agency or call 911 immediately. Do not try to make contact with this subject yourself, he is considered armed and dangerous.
