CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) - News 3 is uncovering new information about a weekend homicide at a Chatham County motel.
Sunday, police found the body of the manager of the Stallion Inn inside one of the rooms.
The victim, who friends call Billy Patel, was hired as the manager of the motel back in 2016.
He talked to News 3 back then about taking a stand against human trafficking. Now, nearly three years later, Patel was found dead inside one of his own motel rooms.
News 3 returned to the property and found the motel is closed temporarily. We called the owner who says employees are afraid to return there.
Workers immediately closed the motel Sunday after the crime, but there are people still living there. The owners tell News 3 they will begin removing people from the property Sunday morning.
