Drivers urged to plan ahead for Labor Day weekend

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - For those who may be celebrating with spirits this holiday weekend, officials urge you to plan ahead.

Whether you are heading to the beach or the bars for Labor Day, there will be more people on the road -- and more indulging in some drinks.

To help reduce needless tragedies this weekend, AAA and Budweiser urge everyone to plan ahead if they are out celebrating.

This means choosing a designated driver, calling a cab, staying where you are celebrating or finding another safe way home:

- Take Uber - get.uber.com
- Ride Lyft - lyft.com
- Call/hail a taxi
- Catch a CAT - catchacat.org
- Call Tow-To-Go at 855-2-TOW-2-GO (855-286-9246)

AAA and Budweiser’s Tow-To-Go service will be available from Friday, August 31 to 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 4 for members and non-members.

The following guidelines apply:

- Confidential local ride to a safe location within 10 miles
- The AAA tow truck transports the vehicle and up to two people
- Tow To Go is provided in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota and Indiana (Fort Wayne and South Bend only)
- Tow To Go may not be available in rural areas or during severe weather conditions

Visit AAA.com/TowtoGo for dates and availability throughout 2018
