Alleged rape victim files suit against administrator, SCCPSS

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - A student and his mother are filing suit against a former assistant principal and the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System.

Marvin Johnson, a former assistant principal at Savannah High, was indicted last month on one count of Sexual Assault of a Student.

The indictment says the incident occurred with a student off of school property in January 2017.

According to court documents, the 16-year-old and his mother allege negligence, damages and other violations.

"At the time, Johnson was employed by the District, which granted him unfettered access to children," the document reads. "At least some of the District's agents and representatives knew or should have known that Johnson was a predator; they just didn’t care.”

"John Doe" and his mother claim the former assistant principal "forcibly had anal sex" with the student without a condom. They also say the teenager contracted syphilis as a result.

Court documents show the defendants, Johnson and the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, deny many of the allegations - including negligence and damages.
