It signifies the start of St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah — the Greening of the Fountain.
Forsyth Park was full of guests decked in green bows and blazers to watch the annual event.
After a few buckets of dye were poured into the water, one finally turned the fountain green. And lucky enough, it was Grand Marshal Jerry Counihan’s grandson — and official parade aid — Braden.
The Greening is one of the most popular St. Patrick’s Day events in the Hostess City. Other fountains throughout Savannah will go green too, so no matter where you visit, you’ll be in luck.
The fun is just starting. Be sure to check out the full lineup of St. Patrick’s Day events here.
