Get your green ready for Hilton Head’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade

St. Patrick's Day

The St. Patrick’s Day festivities continue Sunday with Hilton Head Island’s 36th annual parade.

25,000 people are expected to be decked out in green for the celebration on Pope Avenue.

If you can’t make it, you’re still in luck. WSAV will be streaming the parade live, starting at 3:00 p.m. on wsav.com/livestream.

As a reminder, southbound lanes of Pope Avenue will be closed to traffic from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

According to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, the two northbound lanes will be used for vehicular traffic during those hours. One lane will be used for those traveling south and the other lane will be used for vehicles traveling north.

Unlike Savannah, you cannot walk around the island with alcoholic beverages. Those looking to have a few drinks must be inside designated bars and restaurants.

Extra patrols will also be out to prevent drinking and driving, making sure everyone has a fun and safe time.
