A community rarely afflicted with crime is reeling after two homicides in less than 24 hours.
A woman was shot to death in Bluffton. A man was killed on Hilton Head Island.
Captain Bob Bromage, from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, said he does not believe the two incidents are related. However, both happened outside, in areas generally free of violence.
“Mammy Grant Road is kind of a cut-out, it’s kind of a rural area. Squire Pope Road- it’s a residential area as well. Both Blazing Star Lane on Hilton Head Island and Mammy Grant Road in Bluffton are not gated communities”
Both shootings are still under investigation.
