Teen indicted in death of Savannah Police officer, wife

A 16-year-old accused in the murder of a Savannah Police officer and his wife has been indicted.

After waiving his preliminary hearing last month, Michael Anthony Barber was formally charged by a grand jury on Wednesday, September 5.

The teen faces two counts of Malice Murder, two counts of Felony Murder and two counts of Possession of a Knife During Commission of a Felony.

Barber is accused of killing Savannah Police Cpl. Luis Molina, 53, and his own sister, Akia Molina, 28. The Molinas were found stabbed to death on Monday, August 13 on Palmetto Bay Cove.

Barber is being held in the Chatham County Youth Detention Center.
