Some Atlanta authorities spent several hours talking a naked man off of the roof of a home on Friday.

Neighbors say the man banged on their doors as early as 5:00 a.m. He reportedly broke into some homes, smashing through the kitchen window of one house.

Residents say he did not take anything but climbed on the roof of one home, removing his clothes.

Police blocked off streets near the home while SWAT officers tried to talk the man down to safety. They also put inflatables on the side of the home in case he fell.

After 2:00 p.m. they were able to get the man down and take him into custody.

Police say the man will undergo a mental evaluation. Residents say they hope he gets the help he needs.

He has been charged with prowling and could face more charges as police find how many houses he broke into.
