A man accused in the deadly shooting of a teenager in Jasper County is behind bars.
27-year-old Javeris Williams was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals at a motel in Columbia. He is accused of shooting and killing 17-year-old Samquan Frazier.
Authorities say the shooting occurred Sunday, Sept. 30 in Varnville.
Frazier, of Estill, was found lying near an intersection with a gunshot wound.
Authorities are looking for a Hampton man wanted for the shooting death of a 17-year-old on Sunday.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), Samquan Frazier, of Estill, was found lying on the side of the road at the intersection of Pineland Road and Highway 3.
Frazier was transported with a gunshot wound in his upper torso. He later died at a nearby hospital from his injury.
Through their investigation, JSCO deputies identified 27-year-old Javeris Tremane Williams (aka “Hustleman”) as the suspect in Frazier’s death. Williams is wanted for murder, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
JCSO says he is a resident of Pine Street in Hampton.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a deadly shooting in the Pineland Road area.
They received a report of a man with a gunshot wound just after 9 a.m. When authorities arrived, they found a 17-year-old male lying near the intersection of Highway 3 and Pineland Road.
He was transported to the hospital where he later died.
Deputies believe the shooting happened outside of Jasper County.
They say the victim, an Estill resident, was put out of a vehicle at the intersection where he was found. Investigators currently have two persons of interest in this case. The identity of the victim has not been released.
