Suspect surrenders peacefully after 3-hour long SWAT stand-off on Waters Avenue

Dozens of Savannah Police detectives have blocked off 49th Street and Waters Avenue.

They were called to a business in this neighborhood after reports of a possible cutting.

Savannah Police tell News 3 one person was cut inside of a residence on 49th Street. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

The suspect barricaded himself inside the home for several hours. 

A SWAT Team was on scene attempting to get the suspect to surrender peacefully.

News 3 was on the scene when the suspect was taken out of the home and into police custody.

No word on what charges he will face. Waters Avenue is back open for traffic.
