Statesboro police are investigating five entering auto incidents they say occurred between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. officers responded to four calls at The Hamptons apartment complex and one at Caribe Court Condos, according to the Statesboro Police Department.

They say the victims stated various items had been removed from their vehicles.

All of the vehicles appear to have been left unlocked and showed no signs of forced entry, according to police.

“We hate that these victims had this experience, but we hope others will use this as a cautionary tale and a reminder to lock your vehicle and take your valuables with you if possible,” stated a press release from Statesboro police. “Most criminals are looking for a quick and easy payoff, what’s easier than opening an unlocked door?”

They encourage residents to simply lock their vehicles and bring valuable items inside with them.

These cases have been turned over to detectives of the Statesboro Police Department’s Operations Bureau for further investigation.

Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to contact the Statesboro Police Department at (912) 764-9911.
