SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Savannah Police Department (SPD) says a man who shot at officers turned himself into police custody on November 8.
Police say, Massie Ellis, 25, was wanted for aggravated assault on an officer and other domestic-related charges after he barricaded himself in his home on November 1. He fled his home on Vinyard Drive around 2:50 a.m. after the incident.
SPD said Ellis shot at police several times and one officer returned fire. No officers were injured in Ellis was not struck by the bullet that officer shot. He has since been placed on administrative leave, SPD said.
Ellis has been booked into the Chatham County jail on charges of aggravated assault on a police officer, domestic-related charges & arson.
