UPDATE: One dead, two injured in two different apartment shootings in Statesboro

STATESBORO, Ga. (WSAV) – UPDATE: News 3 has learned new details relating to two overnight shootings at two different apartment complexes Saturday night in Statesboro.

The first shooting happened at Cambridge at Southern: The Pines apartments on Lanier Drive. Statesboro Police Department officers were dispatched to the complex at 9:30 p.m. and upon arrival, found two males shot.

Both men were transported to Memorial University Health in Savannah for treatment. Multiple witnesses were interviewed, and officials searched a parking lot and an apartment.

SPD said that it looks like an attempted home invasion led to an exchange of gunfire. Officials said the two injured appear to be one of the apartment’s tenants and one of the forced entry suspects.

The second shooting happened at Stadium Walk Apartments on Lanier Drive. SPD patrol officers were dispatched at 1:47 a.m. Sunday morning. When they arrived, officers found one male shot inside.

The victim was transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

One individual has been arrested in connection with this homicide. SPD said additional arrests are anticipated.

Both of these incidents are still under investigation. News 3 will have updates.
