Sheriff’s Office: Pilot killed in Georgia plane crash

DALLAS, Ga. (AP) — A pilot died when his single-engine plane crashed in a wooded area of northwestern Georgia.

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office told local news outlets that the pilot was the only person onboard the plane when it went down midday Monday.

The pilot wasn’t immediately identified. No injuries were reported on the ground.

The sheriff’s office said its deputies were working with officials from the National Transportation Safety Board on the investigation.
