Savannah man stopped for speeding arrested on multiple drug charges

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – A speeding violation led officers to arrest a Savannah man on drug distribution and possession charges.

According to the Savannah Police Department (SPD), officers stopped a speeding vehicle around 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cloverdale Drive and Eleanor Street.

SPD says the driver, 26-year-old Herbert Biggins, was found with 2.5 lbs. of marijuana, 67 grams of crack cocaine, 5 grams of THC oil, $6,800, and other drug paraphernalia.

Biggins was arrested on multiple possession charges, as well as possession with intent to distribute, trafficking cocaine, and speeding.

The arrest was made by the city’s Violent Crimes Task Force which, according to SPD, has made 273 felony arrests and 156 misdemeanor arrests since mid-December.
