SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Savannah Fire Department (SFD) responded to two Thanksgiving morning fires.
The first fire happened after 2:00 a.m. in the 1300 Block of East 54th Street.
Responding fire crews discovered light smoke streaming from the front door of the structure and forced entry.
Officials say no one was there at the time of the fire and it was unclear if the house was permanently occupied.
About three hours later, SFD crews battled a fire at a house under construction in the 200 block of Millen Street.
Firefighters discovered heavy smoke streaming from the vacant structure.
The cause of both fires remain under investigation.
