SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Fire crews have given the all clear after a suspicious package was mailed to the Customs building in downtown Savannah.
According to Savannah Fire Rescue, the call came in just before 2 p.m. Wednesday at the U.S. Custom House on East Bay Street.
The package was received via mail, Savannah Fire stated.
Fire personnel, along with Savannah Police, scanned the package and found no hazards, the department said. The package was opened and the postmaster determined the contents were safe.
Savannah Fire tweeted around 2:20 p.m. that they had detected no hazards.
