‘Operation Lucky Charms’ nets 700 citations, 30 DUI arrests, 25 drug arrests, 7 felony arrests

The Port Wentworth Police Department, Pooler Police Department, Georgia State Patrol and the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety H.E.A.T. units wrapped up their 10th annual “Operation Lucky Charms” traffic enforcement early Sunday morning.

Local and state law enforcement officers made 30 D.U.I. arrests and issued more than 700 citations for various violations including no seat belts, children under 8 not riding in an approved safety seat, speeding and distracted driving during the three-day enforcement operation.

In addition to the 30 D.U.I. arrests, officers made 25 drug arrests, seven felony arrests, one fugitive arrest and recovered a stolen vehicle.
