SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Authorities say a man was killed after being shot at a shooting range on Savannah’s Southside.

Savannah Police responded to the Quickshot Shooting Range on White Bluff Road around 3:30 Monday afternoon.

Police have identified the victim as 59-year old John Salvati. The victim was found with a gunshot wound and taken to a local hospital where he later died. 

Officials say Salvati was inadvertently shot by another member of his party while at the range.

According to police, the incident appears to be accidental.

Savannah Police say the incident is under investigation.
