SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – A woman arrested earlier this month for possession of a controlled substance was arrested again on Thursday.

The Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team (CNT) first arrested the 39-year-old Savannah woman, Brandie Milton – also known as Brandie Campbell – on May 2 for obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and criminal attempt to obtain a controlled substance.

CNT determined that in April, she was posing as a medical assistant with her doctor’s office for the purpose of illegally obtaining a prescription sleeping medication.

Milton was out on bond for that incident and arrested without incident Thursday at a Savannah pharmacy. CNT said she was charged with possession of Ambien and obtaining it by fraud.

According to the agency, Milton was arrested in another case in April by CNT for similar acts. She was charged with attempt or conspiracy to violate the Georgia Controlled Substances Act.

Milton is currently being held at the Chatham County Detention Center. CNT says this is an ongoing investigation and additional charges are expected.
