SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – A Savannah man was arrested Tuesday following a joint operation resulting in a large drug seizure, according to the Chatham- Savannah Counter Narcotics Team (CNT).
Late yesterday morning, CNT arrested 35-year-old Sedan Smith. He was arrested for Trafficking Cocaine and served with an outstanding warrant for Parole Violation.
CNT, the Georgia State Board of Pardon and Parole and United States Marshals were conducting a joint operation in the 700 block of East Gwinnett Street. Law enforcement identified Smith to be in the area and knew he was wanted by Parole. Smith was seen leaving a residence and attempting to flee on foot and was then taken into custody.
Officials conducted a search of the residence Smith was seen leaving. Large amounts of powder and crack cocaine were seized along with large amounts of ecstasy. Marijuana, items associated with the distribution of controlled substances and nearly $800 in cash were seized as well.
This was Smith’s fourth arrest by CNT. He is currently being held in the Chatham County Detention Center.
This is an ongoing investigation and additional charges are expected.
