A jury returned a guilty verdict this weekend against a Savannah man charged with a double murder in Thunderbolt.

Nathaniel “Nate” Wilkins was found guilty on all counts for the murders of Forrest Ison and Alice Stevens back in 2013.

Prosecutors say Wilkins worked in Ison’s restaurant and was fired. They believe Wilkins killed the couple as retaliation.

The victims were found shot in the carport of their home.

Another suspect, Michael Jones, was sentenced in May of 2016 in connection with their death.

He will serve two consecutive life sentences on charges of Malice Murder.

A third suspect and Jones’ girlfriend at the time of the murders, Tracy Wilkins Burgess, entered a plea agreement.

Wilkins’ sentencing is scheduled for Thursday morning.
