Glynn County Police investigate shooting, possible attempted burglary

BRUNSWICK, Ga. (WSAV) – Investigators in Glynn County say they are working to piece together the events leading up to a shooting Monday evening.

Officials say officers from Glynn County and Brunswick responded to a reported shooting at 10:30 p.m. on Johnston Street.

According to the Glynn County Police Department, initial reports indicate a resident shot a man who was attempting to burglarize a home.

Glynn County PD says before officers arrived, Troy Rogers, 49, fled the scene. A Brunswick officer found him lying on the ground near 6th and Johnston streets with a single gunshot wound.

Officials say he was taken by helicopter to a Jacksonville hospital where he is in stable condition.

Glynn County Police say charges are not anticipated against Rogers at this time.
