Ft. Stewart Soldier charged with killing Liberty Co. Teen has a history with DUI

News 3 has learned new information about the Ft. Stewart Soldier charged with killing a Liberty County Teen.

According to a Ft. Stewart Representative, Antoine McClendon was disciplined for drunk driving in the past.

Officials say when the crash happened, McClendon was in the process of being administratively removed from The Army.

18-year old Albert Dock was heading home from a friend’s house on January 26th when the car he was riding in was struck by McClendon. 

According to the Chatham County District Attorney’s Office, in Georgia for anyone caught driving drunk, the first and second offenses are considered misdemeanors. The third DUI offense is considered a higher aggrevated misdemeanor.

DUI charges in Georgia upgrade to a felony charge when someone is hurt or killed in the process.

McClendon faces several charges including murder.
