Savannah Police are investigating what led up to shooting and crash on Interstate 16.

Around 2:30 p.m. officers got a call of shots fired from a vehicle on I-16 Westbound near mile marker 164. Police say the driver sped away, crashed into a truck, and an abandoned building on 61st and Montgomery Streets.

After the crash, police say an adult black male ran from the vehicle. He was later discovered at 60th and Bull Streets with a gunshot wound to the left arm. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It is still unclear if this is the only vehicle involved and if the male found shot is the victim or the suspect.

Interstate 16 has since reopened.
