BLOOMINGDALE, Ga. (WSAV) – Police continue to investigate a shooting that left a 20-year-old dead and another man injured Monday night.

Just after 10:30 p.m., officers with the Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) were called to the 2500 block of Fort Argyle Road for a reported shooting. When they arrived, officers found Johnathan Harmon, 20, dead from an apparent gunshot wound lying behind the Country Convenience Store.

According to police, an uninjured man who was with the victim said they were confronted by two other men, and after a “brief altercation,” the two suspects began firing at them.

About four hours after the initial report, CCPD says detectives found 39-year-old Jeffrey Moore suffering from a gunshot wound inside a residence, the location of which was not provided.

He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

Police say they do not believe the shooting was random. They identified one person of interest, Arkeem Brown, 23, who was wanted for questioning.

CCPD says detectives spoke with him, and he wasn’t arrested.

No other suspects have been identified. CCPD says their detectives are working to gather evidence and leads.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Chatham County Police at 912-652-6920.

Information can also be forwarded to CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020. Callers remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
