SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A suspect accused of going on violent crime spree in December of last year has been indicted on multiple charges.
Adaunt’e Jermain Kimble, 21, us charged with malice murder, felony murder, four counts of aggravated assault, seven counts of possession of firearm during commission of a felony, financial transaction, five counts of financial transaction card theft, theft by taking, armed robbery, hijacking a motor vehicle, and one count of financial transaction card fraud.
Around 10:15 p.m. on Dec. 13, officers responded to the 12400 block of Northwood Drive and discovered a 21-year-old man suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
On Dec. 15, at about 11:20 p.m., officers arrived on the scene of the 300 block of Linwood Drive for a report of an armed robbery and carjacking. Police say that the victim met up with the suspect after communicating on a dating/relationship app. After they met, the armed suspect robbed the victim of his possessions and vehicle and struck him with the firearm.
On December 16, Police found Carey Powers Jr. deceased in an apartment complex located at 1015 King George Boulevard. Police say that the victim appears to have died from a gunshot wound, but an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
Detectives said that the suspect and the victim knew each other.
Police also connected him to several other crimes in the area.
Kimble was arrested by the Chatham County police on December 16, 2022. He remains at the Chatham County Detention Center.
