Authorities seize drugs, stolen guns following traffic stop

A traffic stop over the weekend led to the arrest of three Savannah men on multiple felony drug, weapon and other charges.

According to the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team (CNT), the Georgia State Patrol on Sunday morning attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a truck believed to be stolen.

The vehicle fled from troopers on Ogeechee Road and was stopped a short time later.

CNT says three individuals fled on foot from the vehicle. 30-year-old Javonn Brybon, 27-year-old Hakeem Campbell and 36-year-old Amari Sams were quickly taken into custody without incident.

Officials searched the vehicle and seized a trafficking amount of cocaine and ecstasy, a large amount of marijuana and items “commonly associated with the distribution of controlled substances.”

Two firearms were also found in the vehicle. Officials later determined they were stolen.

More than $4,000 was also seized.

Brybon, Campbell and Sams were arrested are charged with multiple felony drug, weapon and other related charges. They remain in the Chatham County Detention Center.
