A Chatham County grand jury has handed down indictments for four 18 and 19-year-olds in the death of a Savannah grandmother.

Patrick Bryant Nelson, Alex Lee Johnson III, Harvey Zihe J. Cooley, and Marvin Marquan Hayes face a total of 29 charges in connection with the death of 59-year-old Patricia Sabb. Those charges include malice murder, felony murder, hijacking a motor vehicle and armed robbery.

On the evening of July 23, Sabb was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound in her home on W 41st Street. She was transported to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

A week later, Savannah Police arrested the four individuals for her murder.

Family members remember Sabb was the life of the party. They say she was the neighborhood’s grandmother who often fed neighbors on Sunday nights.
