SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) released new details in Tuesday’s deadly I-95 crash in Liberty County. Two women died in the collision.

GSP says A 2005 Dodge Durango was traveling north on I-95 near mile marker 79 when it suffered a right rear tire failure.

The driver lost control of the vehicle. The Durango left the roadway and struck a guardrail in the median. The collision overturned the SUV, ejecting two of the eight occupants.

Troopers say Teresa Garcia Flores, 32, and Irma Guadalup Hernandez Garcia, 16, both suffered fatal injuries.

The other six occupants of the Dodge Durango were transported to Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah for medical treatment.
