11 displaced in cooking fire at Montgomery Landings Apartments

Savannah Fire Rescue responded to a fire at the Montgomery Landings Apartments on W. 57th Street around 9 p.m. on Sunday night. A cooking fire activated the sprinkler system and extinguished the fire, but flooded the apartment and the unit below.

Crews had to cut water and power to the two units and they also removed excess water.

No one was injured, but 11 people were displaced. The Red Cross was called to provide assistance.
