SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – WSAV’s own Kim Gusby has received one of the highest service awards given at the state level.

On Friday during an interview with Rep. Carl Gilliard (D-Savannah), he gave Gusby the Outstanding Georgia Citizen Award signed by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

The award reads:

May this Outstanding Citizen be afforded every courtesy as a Goodwill Ambassador from Georgia in her travels to other states, to nations beyond the borders of the United States of America, or wherever she may hereafter travel or reside. Thank you for service to our State.

Gusby said she was honored and caught off guard by the award — but carried on with the newscast as always.

“We all knew Kim Gusby was outstanding, but now it’s officially recognized,” WSAV Morning Executive Producer said.

The Coastal Sunrise anchor has been with WSAV since 1993.
