Women in Effingham County met to ‘Lunch, Laugh, and Learn’ on Thursday.
The event, sponsored by the Effingham Health System, was held to celebrate breast cancer survivors, promote breast health and raise funds to help those in need.
Key points included early detection, breast self-exams and getting an annual mammogram.
“100 percent of the funds that we raise through ticket sales and ads for the program go to our fund to support women or men that do not have money or insurance to get a mammogram,” explained Marie Murphy, Executive Director of Effingham Health System Foundation.
Best-selling author Ronda Rich spoke at the event, encouraging women to share their stories of empowerment and inspiration.
News 3’s own Tina Tyus-Shaw had the honor of emceeing Lunch, Laugh, and Learn.
