Students are settling into their new digs at Georgia Southern.
On Thursday, volunteers and staff members were on hand to help move in the new Eagles.
“We’re really thrilled. A lot of opportunity for Georgia Southern here, and for our students especially,” said Interim President Shelley Nickel. “Everything’s going very smoothly. We’ve got a great team of people here.”
Nickel said there is no final number yet on enrollment because they are still accepting residents.
But the housing office says nearly 1,000 students moved onto the Armstrong campus while some 3,000 will be moving into their new living spaces in Statesboro.
