Ricardo Lewis joined the WSAV News 3 team as a Multimedia Journalist in January 2020 and is excited to tell the stories of those living in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.

Ricardo was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication with a minor in Apparel, Merchandising & Design. Ricardo was also an Iowa State Cheerleader. Go Cyclones!

After graduation, Ricardo started his news career back home in Des Moines as an Associate Producer at KCWI-TV and shadowed the station’s news reporters as much as he could.

That dedication turned into a full-time news job. In November 2018, Ricardo joined KSFY-TV in Sioux Falls, South Dakota as a Multimedia Journalist. Ricardo covered state and local government issues and followed the Iowa caucus presidential candidates. He was also trusted to deliver live coverage on many important weather events — snowstorms, floods and three tragic tornadoes.

On his last day in Sioux Falls, the low temperature was 4 degrees. Needless to say, Savannah’s winter is a nice perk. Please, feel free to contact Ricardo with any story ideas, comments or questions!
