Joseph joined the WSAV in March 2021 as a Digital Producer and has since transitioned into an on-air reporter. He’s been getting to know the Hostess City ever since.
Joseph grew up in Lexington, S.C. — a nearby city to the Palmetto State’s capital — so his move across the river and into Savannah wasn’t a very far one. Joseph didn’t discover his passion for journalism until he was a junior in high school. He then furthered his passion for storytelling and interviewing throughout his college career.
Joseph graduated from the University of South Carolina in May 2020 with a degree in journalism and a minor in political science. During his time at (the real) USC, Joseph wrote for the school’s student-run newspaper, The Daily Gamecock, covering various campus-wide events as well as issues directly impacting Columbia, S.C.
Going to college in the state’s capital allowed Joseph to cover statewide issues and report on stories that impacted all South Carolinians. Joseph is happy to take that same passion earned through his college years and use it to inform the community with the stories that mean most to the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.
When he’s not producing and writing, you can find Joseph sipping coffee or thumbing through a stack of records to spin.
